15-22 April 2017
This spring Odyssea will join forces with Bernd and Juliette from Milagro to sail through the Canary Islands or the Azores in the search for marine life. The steep slopes around these archipelagos lead to nutrient rich waters being brought up from the deep to the surface, promoting the growth of plankton. The result is a hotspot of marine life with over 20 different species of whales and dolphins recorded in the Canary Islands so far! During the 10-day trip you will stay on the fantastic 20 m sailing yacht Milagro, offering an excellent platform to spot animals and record sounds using a hydrophone (underwater microphone). More than just a sailing trip you will be accompanied by marine biologists who will teach you about current conservation issues and the ecology of these animals. The boat can only accommodate a limited number of people, so please get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in this opportunity. The price for the week is 1290€ (transport to and from Tenerife not included).
